Planning your first visit.

Whether you are a lifelong Anglican, a seeker still wrestling with the great questions, a parent looking for a church home for your children, or simply curious about the beautiful music — you are welcome at this Cathedral. You do not need to dress a particular way. You do not need to know when to stand and when to kneel. You will not be asked to stand and introduce yourself.

The service of the Word & Sacrament at 10:00 is the Cathedral’s principal gathering of the week, and it is where most visitors find us. The whole service runs about seventy-five minutes. Children are always welcome; there is a nursery for the youngest, and older children are invited to a brief children’s program during the readings.

What to expect

1. An usher will greet you at the main door, hand you a service bulletin, and point you to a seat (or wherever you’d like to sit).
2. The liturgy itself — the Mass, or service of Word & Sacrament — follows a fixed order that is printed in the bulletin. You will be gently guided. Stand, sit, and kneel as you’re comfortable.
3. Communion is open to all baptized Christians. If you wish to receive, come forward when invited. If you would prefer a blessing, cross your arms over your chest.
4. Coffee hour follows in the parish hall. The Dean makes a point of being there; introduce yourself.

Finding us

123 Main Street, Your Town, ST 12345. The Cathedral sits on the corner of Main & Elm, facing the town square. Parking is free in the Cathedral lot off Elm Street; on-street parking is plentiful on Sundays.

What should I wear?

Whatever you’d wear to a respectful public occasion. Some members dress formally; many do not. You will be neither overdressed nor underdressed. You will simply be welcome.
